Panhandler arrested on suspicion of armed robbery

COLUMBIA - At 12:20 a.m. Wednesday, a man drew a knife and demanded money from a 24-year-old male at Tenth Street and Locust Street, according to a Columbia Police Department press release.

A man approached the victim and asked for change. The victim did not have any but offered a dollar, according to the release. The assailant then drew a knife and demanded more money. The victim fled and neither subject was injured.

Lynn Reynolds, 52, was arrested in connection with the incident on suspicion of first-degree robbery and armed criminal action, according to the release. He is being held on bond at the Boone County Jail.
