COLUMBIA — Boone County Courthouse was evacuated Wednesday afternoon because of dust from construction.

Fire Department Capt. Eric Hartman said dust from Sheetrock in the upstairs construction collected in the smoke detectors.

"No smoke," he said. "No fire or injuries. Just a disruption to the operations here."

Two fans were used to remove dust from the air.
