Bruins win softball opener

The Rock Bridge softball team won its season opener 8-1 at Fatima High School in Westphalia. Freshman pitcher Lauren Fuller led the Bruins with a 1-hit performance on the mound and went 2-for-4 at the plate. Brianne Bond and Sara Stafford went 2-for-3 and Caroline Ficht had two RBIs. Rock Bridge plays next at 5 p.m. Friday at Smith-Cotton in Sedalia.
