You use too much water/You don't use enough

He says

Jacob Holman, 30, a winemaker at Les Bourgeois, often bumps heads with his fiancee on matters concerning the single bathroom they share. Holman skips a flush every once in a while in order to conserve water. This method of conservation, however, is not always mutually appreciated.

He claims his fiancee takes showers that last too long.

“She also has a habit of leaving the curling iron on the toilet,” he says in the background as Jan Carla tells her side over the phone.

He is, it must be noted, making dinner. She maintains control of the phone and jokes, “Is that all, honey? ‘Cause I’m pretty much perfect.”

She says

Jan Carla Johnson, 30, a Trattoria Strada Nova server and full time student at Columbia College, hates it when Jacob goes to the bathroom at night. He “blindly aims for the toilet,” and “when I step in warm pee it makes me really cranky,” she says.

She also has an issue with her makeup, which is kept in the cabinet above the toilet. A couple of times it’s fallen into the unflushed porcelain trap. She made Jacob come right in and clean things up as best he could. Wet makeup is not attractive.

She likes her long showers and is irked by an unflushed toilet. These are not negotiable.

After their wedding later this year, the couple plans to move into a bigger house — with at least two bathrooms.
