Thomas Mitchell
Thomas Mitchell of Columbia died Saturday, Aug. 23, 2008. He was 59.
He was born Aug. 30, 1948, in Higbee to Herman and Mildred (Moore) Mitchell. He moved to Columbia when he was 12.
Mr. Mitchell married Melody McGee on Nov. 12, 1966.
He was active at the Forum Boulevard Christian Church and was involved in many clubs. He was a member of the Old Wheel Car Club and the Show-Me Mopar Club.
“Cars were his hobby,” his wife, Melody, said.
Mr. Mitchell is survived by his wife; two children, Tommy Mitchell of Columbia and Melissa Summers of Smithville; his mother; two sisters, Anna Johnson of Hallsville and Janey Wyrick of Columbia; a brother, Maurice Mitchell of Columbia; and three grandchildren.
His father died earlier.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Forum Boulevard Christian Church, 3900 Forum Blvd. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the church.
